When I look back at my journey in early childhood education, now spanning over 25 years, I feel deeply grateful for the privilege of working with children, families, and educators across so many contexts. Having grown up in the United States and then choosing to make India my home for most of my adult life, I carry with me both traditional roots and a global outlook. This blend has shaped the way I think about learning—deeply rooted in culture, yet open to progressive, research-driven practices.
Haven was born from a dream I have carried for years: to create a space where children feel safe, curious, and joyful in their earliest years of learning. I firmly believe that the foundation we lay in these formative years shapes not just how children learn, but who they become. At Haven, we embrace the Finnish approach to early education—an approach that values play, exploration, and emotional well-being as much as academics. It reflects my conviction that every child learns best when they feel seen, supported, and inspired.
For me, Haven is more than a preschool—it is a promise. A promise to parents that their children will be nurtured with care and guided with thoughtfulness. A promise to children that their wonder,
creativity, and individuality will always be celebrated. And a promise to our community that education can be reimagined into something joyful, meaningful, and lifelong.
As we open the doors to Haven, I carry immense hope. Hope that every child who steps in here will find not just a school, but a second home. Hope that they will leave each day with brighter smiles, bigger questions, and a deeper love for the world around them. And hope that in these walls, we are not just preparing children for school—we are preparing them for life.
Haven is my way of giving back: to the children who teach us to see the world anew every day, and to the families who trust us with their most precious gift. Together, we are building a community where education is not a race, but a journey—one filled with discovery, connection, and joy.
